Title: JIRA Administrator

Location: Sandy Springs, GA (Hybrid- Vaccination Required)

Duration: 12 + Months

The JIRA administrator is responsible for managing JIRA/JSD/Confluence tool. This includes, creating and organizing new projects on the JIRA/Confluence platforms, as well as configuring the layout, design, workflow, board, permissions, reporting, and dashboard. Provide user management access and training to project stakeholders as needed. Coordinate migrations, installation, upgrades, and improvements to the software. Ensure the systems are properly tested and validated in development prior to production release.
Responsibilities:
• Support JIRA, JSD, and Confluence administration with: project setup and management of custom, complex projects, global permissions, components, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards, project migrations, and reports configurations. Proficiency in customizing JIRA projects with various schemas and workflows.
• Lead JIRA/Confluence upgrades, project migrations, (including communications), schedule and coordinate quarterly/ad-hoc maintenance, and work closely with the 3rd party hosting vendor for any performance tuning, outages/troubleshooting, and scaling issues. Experience with hosted environments and remotely co-located systems.
• Coordinate and schedule JIRA Champions biweekly meetings and manage change management and approvals
• Manage EPA testing with hosting vendor and project stakeholders. Ensure past and new vulnerabilities are retested, validated, and remediated.
• Track and report on JIRA/JSD/Confluence licenses usage on monthly basis. In addition, coordinate with the QA team to run monthly automation script to remove/deactivate licenses from inactive users and terminated users.
• Maintain and track software licenses renewals- add-ons and infrastructure hosting.
• Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions. Coordinate with JIRA Champions smoke/validation tests in development and production environments.
• Meet with project stakeholders to identify JIRA, JSD, and Confluence project requirements and implement them as appropriate.
• Perform full requirements gathering, business process workflows, and process improvement for JIRA/Confluence workflows and processes in place, identifying where functionality can/cannot meet user requests.
• Conduct training and workshops for employees and consultants on JIRA and Confluence – such as tools’ usage, new functionality or features, best practices, etc.
• Develop, maintain, and gather training resources based on the department’s needs.
• Document JIRA/Confluence governance, process, standards, training material, and best practices in Knowledge Base space. Create and maintain detailed technical and user documentation as needed.
• Create, maintain and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities.
• Administrate User Management setup and grant user permissions in accordance with the company guidelines and standards.
• Resolve issues as they arise with JIRA Projects and Confluence in coordination with JIRA hosting partner team.
• Extensive and advanced expertise in tool administration on JIRA/Confluence. Proficiency in Atlassian tool suite a major plus.
• Proficient in understanding and adapting XML (Extensible Markup Language) and basic programming knowledge of various frameworks.
• Excellent problem solving and process implementation skills.
