SDET (Software Development Engineer Test) who can think and take our journey of innovations to next level which will deliver a rich, engaging, and unmatched customer experience. In this role, you will ensure flawless cutting-edge experiences using existing and emerging automation frameworks.
As a SDET with Optum, you would work with Software engineers as well as other test automation engineers to design, develop and maintain automation frameworks for effective and efficient test execution. Will be responsible to develop and maintain existing automation scripts written in Java, Selenium and Cucumber frameworks.? Also look to incorporate automation into code delivery pipelines (CI/CD) and engineer-reporting tools that help the team to stay on top of code quality.
Must have Qualifications:
As a Quality Engineer/SDET 3+ years of hands-on automation scripting experience with Java, Selenium and Cucumber
Experience of working in Agile methodologies/Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration processes
Experience automating build processes, application deployments and continuous integration system with Jenkins
Good understanding of Object-Oriented (OOPS), Functional Core Java.
Proficient with IDE developer tools, such as Eclipse and IntelliJ
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools like Git
Experience testing REST (web services) and automating APIs
Problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally with a medium to long term perspective
Should be able to own the work/task and track it End to End till closure.
Understanding of Batch jobs (Shell Scripts) and Unix commands
Preferred qualification: Experience with automating Batch jobs is a huge plus

Job Responsibilities:
Understand the business objectives and analyze, dissect system requirements and technical specifications
Partner with QE team members and developers to understand the test cases for automation
Design, development and implement automated tests
Display strong technical knowledge in product?analysis and debugging
Refactor functional/automation test cases in regular cycle and reduce the test cycle time and/or come up with next gen technique to optimize the test suites.
Ability to work on defects and enhancements. Understand product development workflow, and software development life cycle
New ideas and initiatives to improve test automation for UI, API and Batch while having integration with CI processes
Improve scripting techniques, adopt best practices, and reduce rework and make sure of complete coverage of requirement (no missing test cases)
Quality and Productivity Improve testing efficiency and make sure of 100% coverage, use best techniques/tools/test data generation mechanism, and improve productivity in regression testing
Ability to understand design concepts and product architecture. Propose solutions for performance and security issues.
Code debugging skills when test cases fail at automation runs
Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to product needs
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Research and implement tools that support delivery
Identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, dynamic data collection methodologies, coding standards, components and object repository methods, etc.)
Participate in communities of practice to share knowledge, learn, and innovate.
