Position Title: Java Hadoop Developer

Description:

Seeking a Java Developer to join the Lending development team that works on the LAL platform (Liquidity Access Line). Candidate will be involved in revamping our existing LAL platform for origination and servicing, to introduce more self-service options for clients to choose. Candidate will also make LAL enhancements on front-end and back-end to integrate with the digital lending platform. The candidate will be part of global team with members in U.S. and India. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities and proprietary system builds.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop Java applications as well as multi-tier Java EE style applications in finance technology supporting all Lending business
• Implement Big Data functionalities on Hadoop ecosystem for Lending Platform
• Developing performance-critical and high-volume data handling components
• Collaborate with multiple technology teams that are upstream and downstream to the application which including Data Warehouse, LoanIQ and firm’s GL system etc
• Conduct intense code-reviews and follow best coding practices
• Work in Agile development methodologies, collaborating with business and technology teams located globally

Skills Required:

• 8+ years of hands-on development experience with Java 8 and in implementing Java/J2EE based applications.
• 5+ years of strong experience of implementing applications using Spring framework
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Hive, Apache Sqoop, YARN, etc.)
• Proven experience in implementing Web services/micro services & client applications
• Proven experience in implementing Event based systems and message Brokers like MQ/Kafka
• Hands-on experience in writing SQL queries and good understanding of database concepts like transactions, Indexes, query tuning etc.
• Hands-on experience with development tools like Junit/TDD, GIT, JIRA, Sonar etc.
• Ability to analyze the business requirements and delivery functionalities with minimal guidance
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter and within a team environment
• Comfortable in fast paced dynamic environment with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and presentation skills: ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner; individually or in front of a group
• Practical experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps Integration.

Skills Desired:

• Experience with Cloud Native Development
• Practical knowledge of using CI/CD Pipelines
• Practical knowledge of Wealth Management, Lending-based products, and financial systems

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
