Job Title: IBM i/Iseries Developer with Webservices 

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duration: 12 Months

 

Description:

  1. Must be fluent in one or more SQL Clients such as Navigator, ACS, IBM Data Studio.
  2. Must be able to develop using RDi without the need for SEU
  3. Has a deep understanding of the systems, integration tools, and web services, writes technical specifications, reviews project deliverables, enforces coding standards, and compliance with standards and plans implementations
  4. Strong experience with advanced SQL including utilizing embedded SQL in RPGLE programs, DDL structure, Views, Tables and Index structures; working knowledge of relational databases
  5. Excellent knowledge of modular programming, SQL cursors, and related processing
  6. SQL Set processing for fetching and for insert, update, and delete
  7. Knowledge of Commitment Control
  8. Experience with DB2 including Tables, Views, and Trigger concepts
  9. Knowledge of DB2 Constraints and what they are
  10. Experience with IFS
  11. Working knowledge of FTP/DNS concepts
  12. Knowledge of one or more of the following:  IBM IWS, IBM AxisC, MuleSoft, Valance, Klement’s HTTP Lib, open-source frameworks for REST provisioning and/or consuming.
  13. Knowledge of how to pack and unpack JSON using DB2 for I, and/or one of the tools that do this.
  14. Healthcare domain and Agile experience (preferred)
  15. Communication and negotiation skills, technical decision-making skills, ability to work with additional teams and the architect(s)
  16. Nice to Have knowledge
    • native DB2 SQL/PL, stored procedures, User Defined Functions, and Triggers
    • SOA, multi-tier architecture, micro-services, loosely coupled designs, and an understanding of the concept of Separation of Concerns
    • any OOP language
  17. Positive attitude; Team Player, Self-Starter, does not often wait to be told next steps
