REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:
• Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
• Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
• Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
• Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, and form documentation.
• Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
• Develop documentation that follows a common policy and provide the framework for the State of Maine that relates back to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations.
• Facilitates timely communications with program managers, outside contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss business problems, corrective action plans, and related organizational issues.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Efficiently review and edit documents so they present the clearest and most logical way to present information
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of information security laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of information systems, concepts, and design techniques.
• Knowledge of Industry Compliance Standards (NIST Framework, especially 800-53, SOC 2, IRS Pub 1075, CMS, PCI, CJIS, Social Security Administration, FISCAM)
• Ability to gather, assemble, calculate, and analyze facts and draw valid conclusion.
• Ability to analyze and interpret laws, rules, standards, and regulations. The skills to articulate policy guidance to all stakeholders is critical to this role.
• Ability to develop plans, policies and procedures that meet regulatory compliance requirements
• Ability to develop recommendations for the revision or repeal of laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and the implementation of new systems and organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor of Arts degree in an appropriate field (i.e., Technology and/or Writing Intensive Discipline). Demonstrated experience in editing, writing and presenting technical documents.
Experience must include knowledge of information security practices.
