Job Description:

The performance testing engineer should work closely with the development team to ensure Savvas applications perform well under load. He should be writing and executing Jmeter scripts, monitoring the performance of the load testing hardware under load, analyzing and reporting the results, and working with the right people to resolve issues. The performance testing engineer will also have to ensure the client-side performance is up to par in a variety of supported browsers so they should have a good understanding of technologies like Javascript and Ajax, and be able to identify slow page elements.

  • Performance engineer should ensure system reliability; capacity and scalability. Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes.
  • Generate test summary reports for management review.
  • Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing.
  • Publish and perform the Load/Stress tests and certify the release for various performance levels.
  • Work closely with Principals and SQE to define performance requirements.
  • Develop a test plan and strategy to test our applications at scale and ensure that our systems perform under SLAs under stress.
  • Innovate and create performance validation engines that can keep up with fast moving code bases and cater to millions of educators and learners.
  • Research and analyze issues in the Application /Services/DB layer and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Design and implement scalable performance tests that can guarantee application scalability, longevity and performance under stress.
  • Review and analyze application, logs and usage data from Kibana, Datadog, Google Analytics etc.
  • Work with your development counterparts to review ongoing production usage and growth and incorporate findings to test scripts. Coordinate with Senior Developers,

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Jmeter is required.
  • Experience with performance measurement, profiling, and optimization tools and techniques.
  • A thorough understanding of web application performance testing methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of Java and web technology, including HTTP headers and HTTP verbs (post, get, etc).
  • Very good at designing test frameworks, load simulation models, and load statistics calculations.
