Job Description :

Job Role: Full Stack Java Software Engineer

Location: Kansas City, MO

Position Type: 6+ months Contract

The client plans to require all staff (including consultants) to resume working in the KC office after 1/3/22. The number of days working in the office will be variable at first, but the goal is to return to working in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

High-Level Technical Skills/Experience Required:

  • At least 4 years of recent Oracle SQL, and Java full-stack development
  • Desired frameworks: Primefaces, Webflow, Spring, Springboot, JSP, Jasper reports

Technical Skills/Experience in the following areas are a plus:

  • Experience using Jira, IntelliJ, Microsoft 360, Microsoft SharePoint, Informatica
  • Experience with the Agile software development process
  • Strong (verbal and written) communication skills for a cross-collaboration with business partners
  • Experience with C/C++, Shell scripting, Linux CLI, Excel Macros, VBA, Gitlab
  • Cloud application development experience (AWS experience)
  • Experience with Angular 6+ and RESTful services
  • Working with legacy Java GUI applications and complex metadata for the Financial Analysis Systems team.

Job description:

  • Assist team with legacy Java application support and maintenance.
  • Create or modify code, and test applications already deployed to the cloud.
  • Good communications skills are required.
  • The candidate we are seeking can translate business requirements into functioning software with cursory guidance from existing teammates.
  • The team has legacy backend C++ applications and even though it is not a requirement some C++/Linux experience would be a bonus.
  • Possible Angular Application Development and REST service new development.
  • The work will be performed at the client in the Market, Financial, and Licensing Department in the Information Technology Group
  • Attend daily KANBAN standups, where teammates report progress or blockers
  • Review Jira
  • Code & test Java applications using IntelliJ, Oracle SQL, and Gitlab
  • Interact with a team to swim unplanned / production issues
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education
