The sourcing strategy will impact the entire portfolio of products offered by CAI and include both partner outsourcing operations as well as internal hiring initiatives. *The Job* We are looking for a results-oriented Engineering Operations Director. This position will work alongside our SVP & VP of Engineering roles across Cox Automotive and be directly responsible for implementing sourcing and hiring initiatives intended to build a high performing software development organization. This director-level role will provide thought leadership and drive vendor strategy, operations, innovation and efficiency improvements. This individual will work directly with each SVP product/engineering leader to identify opportunities for demand optimization, consolidation, and savings. They will work directly with our strategic suppliers to ensure outstanding engineering services are provided. Finally, they will work closely with HR and Talent Acquisition as we drive standard hiring practices across the product group.The ideal candidate will combine a vision of a high performing Engineering organization, a strong program management capability, and an extensive background in leading large complex labor sourcing strategies, with an attention to detail and an ability to develop, maintain and report on specific metrics. *Your Role** Provides thought leadership in vendor strategy, operations, innovation and efficiency improvements* Identify opportunities for demand optimization, consolidation, and savings* Manage and optimize vendor operations for our product engineering operations and other external business unit stakeholders* Conduct quarterly business reviews with strategic vendors, measure performance, and establish plans for continuous improvement* Conduct monthly metrics reviews with strategic vendors and solution set leadership* Prepare complex analytics, metrics, and dashboards to demonstrate business value of the sourcing program and supplier performance for Cox Automotive Product Group management team* Successful translation of organizational focus and strategic objectives to strategic vendors* Develops, achieves and maintains the reporting on portfolio- as well as project-level Key Performance Indicators associated with our sourcing strategy* Ensure that all of the terms and conditions of an agreement are thoroughly reviewed and documented, and risk to Cox Automotive is mitigated* Implementation of risk management plans, quality agreements, and robust relationship management plans* Ensures that Product Engineering leaders renew and re-negotiate their contracts in a timely manner and with cost optimization, cost avoidance, savings or equal contract value* Track Cox Automotive Product Group overall sourcing capacity as data and ratios compared to the in-house organization* Drive strategic hiring initiatives intended to provide scaled and enterprise-based hiring capabilities to the Cox Automotive Product Group Qualifications: * Where permitted by applicable law, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to be considered for this U.S. based job. (Reasonable accommodations for medical and religious objections will be considered).* Bachelors degree required* Deep understanding of software product engineering and support global labor sourcing eco-system* Experience in transitioning a large scale, complex portfolios of technology solutions to strategic sourcing partners* Experienced in the establishment and operations of captive development centers * Deep understanding of technology industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices* Comprehensive and expert knowledge of the modern software development processes* 10+ years of experience, at least 5 years managing sourcing operations on a large scale* Working ability to set project schedules, deliverables, and manage budgets* Exceptional program management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a changing environment* Attention to detail, schedule awareness and ability to drive organizations to healthy and timely results* Experience managing and guiding senior leadership via influence rather than command and control techniques* Must be able to inspire and maintain a positive atmosphere of innovation and success across a diverse team* Must possess an ability to build key business relationships and contribute to the emerging technology culture within Cox Automotive* Experienced storyteller with a passion for creating and delivering innovative communication approaches to engineering audiences* Manages confidentiality without exceptionWho We Are*About Cox Automotive*Theres nothing ordinary about Cox Automotive.
