Job Description :

 

Core Job Responsibilities :

  • Work within a team structure to define engine and vehicle control architecture and associated telemetry.  
  • Assist in the implementation of model based development for both hardware and software.
  • Identify and validate selection of vehicle control module options, sensors, and power management systems.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members. 
  • Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes. 
  • Develop and/or update electrical purchased part specifications and engineering drawings. 
  • Identify and assess key supplier capabilities using APQP processes and tools.
  • Define, identify and complete appropriate qualification testing activities. 
  • Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects. 
  • Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects. 
  • Coordinate the activities of other engineers or technicians assigned to the project. 
  • Provide engineering support to product planning and/or technical support teams. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s in Electrical Engineering a plus
  • 5-10  years work experience in electrical design and/or control systems engineering, preferably automotive
  • Model based design 

Essential Skills or Knowledge:

  • Experience with power system modules and electrical vehicle controls and safety features  
  • Previous experience in model based software development
  • Previous experience in vehicle telemetry, diagnostics, and data analytics a plus
  • CAN/LIN Experience
  • Experience in system modeling using Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow
  • Experience with APQP methods and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation 
  • Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and design standards
  • Basic experience with 3D-CAD applications such as ProE is a plus (but is not required)
