POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Support & EDI Lead is responsible for the management and support of EDI and its associated applications, Database Interfaces, and EDI processes. Leading the effort to enable an efficient and resilient EDI at 5.11 in order to facilitate frictionless EDI order flow.

JOB Duties
  • The Lead candidate will be providing support and partner onboarding services
  • Experience in Development, mapping, process integration
  • Working knowledge of multiple protocols (FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, AS2, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of multiple formats and standards (EDI X12, EDIFACT, CSV, XML/JSON, Flat File/Positional, etc.)
  • Experience with AS400, RPG programming, CLs, Tables
  • Strong analytical skills for root cause and problem resolution
  • Good communication skills - written and oral
  • Exposure to One EDI source solution would be nice
  • Work closely with operations applications and IT Leadership to improve production stability and the design of new initiatives
  • As a lead, and EDI expert, participate in the full lifecycle of a system implementation such as Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, System Configuration, Design, Testing, and Support, ensuring adherence to the SDLC methodology and development standards at 5.11. Provide support, analysis, oversight, completion and documentation of business system issues, jobs and services.
  • Function as an interface between business partners and IT, translating internal customer requirements into effective, cost efficient EDI solutions.
  • Endorse, participate, enthusiastically promote, and assist in the leadership of an effort to assure cross-functional competency to all team associates. Transition personal knowledge of the various technologies to other IT associates so that day-to-day support can be expanded and improved. Promote depth of support in such a way that the absence of a single associate, in possession of a specific knowledge set, will not represent a threat to the business.
  • Manage relationships and communications with other teams at various 5.11 locations.
  • Ensure that software product/solution development meets business requirements.
  • Provide regular status updates and feedback.
  • Advise management about any perceived roadblocks, issues and risk factors regarding schedule and/or costs.
  • Assume total ownership of issues and ensure closure of issues with internal and external business partners.
  • Be available for on call rotation
  • Perform issue management and tracking duties and use the issue management system.
