Database Administrator for the State of Colorado
Dept: Jefferson County
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Denver, CO

This position requires little or no supervision. Fully responsible for installation of the database software, new releases and upgrades and supporting products. Assist in forecasting long term database needs and support requirements.
Design solutions to complex technical and data problems. Support existing and new project data needs. Serve as database resource for all of IT Services. Identify, test, and architect inclusion of security tools to protect County data.
Monitor, tune, diagnose and resolve problems with the databases and their performance. Promptly determine root causes of problems to facilitate rapid resolution. Analyze historical trends and anticipate expected future requirements. Modify databases and applications to optimize processing performance. Refresh databases as requested. Confer with user request
Develop and maintain a backup and recovery strategy for all databases
