Once OPS staff are required to return to the office, the resource under this request will be required to work onsite as well. Database Administration Specialist to: Create physical database designs, operate and administer the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, performance tuning, backup and recovery Manage database requirements for new client application onboarding the Shared Utility Service hosting. The consultant will be responsible for creating physical database designs, and operating and administering the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, performance tuning, backup and recovery. General Skills Experience in database administration at the specified experience level Experience of managing Oracle 11g/12c ETL/Data ware house Experience with UNIX operating systems Experience with Oracle database technologies Experience in one or more programming languages Experience in the use of information retrieval packages and proficiency with query languages Experience with one or more communications protocols Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Experience in monitoring and enforcing database rules Experience in Incident, Change and Configuration Management procedures Required Skillset More than 10 yrs Oracle DBA experience Approved experience of Oracle 11g & 12c using multi-tenant architecture Oracle 12c RAC Grid infrastructure/ASM RMAN backup and Restore Data Encryption using ASO/TDE Oracle Dataguard Physical/Logical Configuration & Administration Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration & Management for alerting & reporting UNIX shell scripting SQL optimization, tuning and performance experience MS SQL Server installation, Configuration and database management Desirable Skills Oracle certification - OCP Oracle Partitioning Oracle Advanced Compression Oracle Golden Gate Experience with distributed data systems Experience with DB2 database technologies Data Conversion from DB2 to Oracle Building of Oracle RAC on conventional Solaris servers Oracle Engineered solutions Experience of DB web search services Oracle DB data integration and evaluation Experience with middleware and gateways Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions Experience with infrastructure services within the Ontario government (e.g. Internal Infrastructure Hosting policies and Provisioning practices) Knowledge of the GSIC support organization and ITSM processes adopted in OPS including standards, process and procedures Skills Experience and Skill Set Requirements Rated Requirements Dataguard - 20% Experience designing, installing, configuring and maintaining an Oracle Dataguard environment Oracle Database Configuration - 10% Experience planning and designing a new database deployment Experience installing and configuring an Oracle 12c RAC Database Oracle 12c Enterprise Manager - 10% Experience with designing, building, Installing, configuring and administering OEM 12c Alerting and Reporting - 10% Experience installing, configuring and administering OEM 12c Alerting and Reporting Oracle Unified Auditing - 10% Experience installing, configuring and administering Oracle 12c Unified Auditing DB performance Tuning - 5% 10+ years experience perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of databases OPS Experience - 5% Experience working within the OPS within last 2 years Knowledge of OPS I&IT Standards and ITSM best practices during previous OPS I&IT project initiatives, I.e. Incident, change, problem, service level management. Familiarity with ServiceOntario and the suite of brokered I&IT services offered through ServiceOntario and available via the multiple channel offerings
