Data Warehouse Manager Issaquah, Washington 6 months Position Summary The Data Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading the team that defines and executes the strategy for the data warehouse platform and supporting applications for the global organization. This position is responsible for defining best practices around enterprise class data platforms and developing core data engineering capabilities. They will manage a team of data engineers responsible for building solutions which are flexible, performant and scalable. The right candidate should have extensive knowledge of large, highly available data environments with an emphasis on quality and reliability. They will be responsible for the continued growth and support of the data warehouse environments, DWH team's business knowledge, and the appropriate application of the organization's policies. Our ideal candidate will have a strong technical background to help create and drive the data transformation strategy while providing awareness and champion the adoption of new BI and DW processes and technology. This position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and will work closely with our Manager of BI and various IT teams. This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week Responsible for the technical teams that build and develop features and tools for the organizations data warehouse. Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, and career development planning for team members. Actively participate in defining the strategic direction and technology roadmap for the organizations data warehouse. Works with team members to define and implement standards and best practices. Works with team members to define, implement, and support the department's service level agreement. Drives adoption and ensure adherence to our existing development lifecycle. Expected to drive all assigned projects leveraging the project execution framework. Responsible for ensuring the maximum quality of the organization's technology applications. Participates in architecture, design, and code review sessions as a coordinator, owner, reader, or observer. Must keep current on new technology and make recommendations to the development team on future directions. Responsible for creating and managing the resource plan for the data warehouse department. Responsible, and with a desire, for driving execution of small to medium development projects. Responsible for maintaining and fostering a sense of urgency within the team and the department. Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required: 3+ years' current experience leading/managing a data warehouse team. Understand the end-to-end methodology of building out a data warehouse, business intelligence solution. Experience analyzing data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies. Data architecture, dimensional data modeling, and ELT experience in traditional and cloud platforms. Knowledge in Big Data solutions and philosophies. Knowledge of BI technologies such as SQL and scripting languages to help streamline data source solutions for best success. Experience extracting 3rd party datasets and transforming them into dimensional modeled data sources used throughout the org. Required experience in development environments that include some, and or all, of the following: SOAP and/or REST APIs, MS-SQL Server and T-SQL, JDBC or equivalent data-tier frameworks, Python or equivalent scripting language, and database design & development Required experience in DevOps tools, Git, and continuous integration techniques. Depth of experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies. Must have strong leadership and team-building skills. Must be innovative, creative and possess a passion for excellence. Must have strong interpersonal skills, able to work with people at all management levels. Must be detail oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills. Must have excellent organizational and planning skills, with experience building strategic and tactical plans. ? Must have the ability to analyze a situation for potential future problems. Must have the ability to work under pressure and in a crisis situation. Must be extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience is required. Ability to support a 24x7x365 environment, if needed.
