Role: Data Engineer Location: Alpharetta Georgia Duration: Long -Term Contract Role & Responsibilities: Design, develop, deploy, and support data integration, data movement, and data analysis jobs for various lines of business. Define best practices, develop frameworks, and architectural solutions for ETL and analytics at scale. Train and mentor members within the data engineering team on technology platforms and tools used to develop data solutions. Prepare documentation - design, data model, runbook, training, and user guides - for frameworks and ETL jobs. Partner with engineering teams to operationalize/scale the deployment of solutions to achieve optimum performance and efficiency. Partner with business teams across the enterprise to understand their data and analytic needs, identify appropriate data sources and design robust and maintainable solutions. Required Skills: Looking for overall 7 years of IT experience. 3+ years of hands-on experience working on building data pipelines for Hadoop using services like HDFS, Hive, Impala, HBase, Spark. Deep understanding of designing data models, working with SQL to analyze data from warehouses and experience creating and managing big data schemas. 3 years? experience working with data integration and ETL tools and platforms like IBM DataStage. 3 years? experience programming with Python/Perl/Unix Shell. Familiarity with data lake services on a cloud platform: AWS Analytics/Azure Analytics/Snowflake. Experience using collaboration and version control tools: JIRA/Confluence/git. Possess an analytical mind-set, be able to work independently, and be flexible to learn new technologies. Preferred Skills Familiarity with business intelligence tools and creation of reports & analytics. Experience working in the financial industry.
