Job Title: Data Center Technician / Network Technician Location: Franklin, TN 37067 Is remote option available during COVID: No - Onsite required General Description: - Assist in providing specialized technical maintenance and recovery support and services for Data Center.
- Assist with network problem resolution activities
- Ensure that all procedures are relevant and correctly followed.
- Anticipate emergent situations and assists in the contacting of essential/critical personnel as required.
- Reports to the Data Center Manager/DC Team Lead
Essential Job Functions: - Work assigned tickets that have been assigned: such as racking and un-racking servers, running cables (copper and fiber) per standards, and assist in trouble shooting issues.
- Receive packages and equipment per process. Schedule the shipping/receiving dock to accept packages.
- Contact technical personnel as required by critical outage procedures. Follow guidelines established for the contacting of technical/critical personnel. Maintain a written record of each event to ensure that all documentation and procedures were utilized correctly.
- Maintain data center deployed equipment via DCIM software and spreadsheet
- Install and remove Hosts/Servers/Network per process and standard, adjust as needed.
- Support remote teams with any trouble shooting as needed.
Knowledge and Skills (Indicate which are required, preferred, or desirable. Include licenses and certificates) REQUIRED: - Experience in computer center operations and/or computing management in multi-platform environment and operating systems helpful
- Working knowledge of network and server equipment helpful
- Working knowledge of HVAC, UPS, and other Data Center systems helpful
- Familiarity with MS Office and ServiceNow
- Customer Service oriented required
- Detail oriented required
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written, across various skill sets and knowledge bases required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required
- High School Degree required/College preferred
Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, unusual environmental conditions, etc.): - Must be able to work in cool climate, low humidity for long periods.
- Work extended hours, nights, and weekends when required.
- Be able to work on ladders up to 7' tall.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs, move equipment, rack and un-rack data center hardware
