SD-WAN Event and Schedule Coordination Project Manager 11883 (remote for now)
Primary Needs:


• Position will reside within the Innovation, Architecture, and Infrastructure team at Client.
• Project Manager will drive the scheduling and conduct of SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network) project events of three or more different types:


• Pre-stage: conduct a teleconference event to rack, power and cable SD-WAN routers with a joint team comprised of managed service provider (MSP)-provided dispatch on site & Client and MSP engineers remote.
• Circuit tests: conduct a teleconference event to test the functionality and speed of one or more newly delivered data circuits with a joint team comprised of MSP-provided dispatch on site & Client and MSP engineers remote.
• Migration: conduct a teleconference event to finish configuration of the SD-WAN routers pre-staged prior, then connect new data circuits to the pre-staged hardware with a joint team comprised of MSP-provided dispatch on site & Client and MSP engineers remote.


• Infrastructure project background for this PM is preferred, ideally with previous experience with networking subjects (LAN, WAN, wireless, data circuits).
• Experience working with international teams preferred.

• Specific responsibilities of this project manager will include:
• Scheduling and conducting the events (and similar events) as described above, across roughly 60 sites within the project.
• Coordinating required resources with the Client and MSP teams to ensure all appropriate personnel are invited to said events and event prep is done per Client change control practices.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local contacts and MSP planners to ensure events are successful.
• Candidate should possess international/cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Be aware of, for the scope of sites we will work with, varying time zone, native language, and cultural elements, and how they may impact events; for example, cultures who do not work Monday through Friday and varied international holidays - to ensure events are successful.
• Developing and managing schedules, tasks, and event dates by site and overall.
• Publish and maintain the event schedules for project team review and ongoing awareness.
• Embrace modern digital workplace solutions (e.g., SharePoint and Teams) to ease workload, prevent errors, and ensure events are successful.
• Driving accountability for pre-, during, and post-event task delivery and closure.
• Support fellow PMs and the Program Manager by providing ongoing reporting using standard project management methodologies, and Client standards and requirements.
• Strong collaboration, communication and organizational skills are a must, given the complexity of the events and the project they support. Candidate must be flexible to adapt to unforeseen changes and have the initiative to attempt to solve problems, as well as share challenges and solutions with fellow PMs and Program Manager to ensure events are successful.
• Will work with a matrixed team of Client full time and contract staff, as well as 3+ Client vendors as the events dictate.


• Minimum of 8+ years of project management experience with a focus on Infrastructure.
• Contract to run from candidate’s start date through June 30, 2022 with potential for additional extension following proven performance.
• Please note, while the position will initially be remote, expectations are that it will move to an onsite engagement in the near future. Do not submit candidates who desire to work remote on a permanent basis. This is non-negotiable as Client transitions back to an on-site workplace.
• May execute and deliver in line with below Project Management expectations as required.
Expectations:
• Develop, execute, and manage project(s) within the defined scope.
• Lead all aspects of the project lifecycle, working with project sponsors/key stakeholders, team members, and management to oversee all phases of project completion.
• Build and manage project’s work breakdown structure, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables within the constraints of human and financial resources and changing priorities to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Ensure transparent reporting of project status, issues, risks, and financials.
• The individual will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• May lead and direct the work of others.
• Be able to work under general supervision.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Specific Project Manager Responsibilities May Include:
• Initiate and Plan Project: Works with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, financials, and deliverables.
• Project Control: Assess the degree to which changes to scope, issues and risks will affect the project, working with business and IT management and sponsor to gain agreement for resolution. Measure performance to assure the project is progressing as compared to original plan and budget.
• Executing and Closing Project: Develops and executes a work plan obtaining authorized resources to ensure all activities are performed. Leads team in delivering project scope. Gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
• Project Communication: Communicate project progress by producing project reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to project teams, business, and IT management. Makes recommendations based on current project status to resolve issues and manage risks.
• Resource and Team Management: Coordinate resources to ensure project needs are addressed and effectively assign tasks and deliverables to team members based upon their abilities. Motivates project team to deliver project outcomes.
• Quality Management: Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and functional policies and procedures.
• Decisions: Make decisions that impact project level activities.
Qualifications:
• Primary Needs outlined above – please read in detail.
• PPM Tool experience is required.
• Individual must be able to work full time; will initially work in a remote setting, with full time transition to on-site in Lake County at a date to-be-determined by manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Clarity PPM experience preferred, but not required.
• PMP Certification is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Organization Change Management experience/knowledge is optional.
