Cloud Solution Architect

Sacramento, California ( Day 1 from Onsite, No remote)

Long Term Contract 

 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Cloud Solutions Architect 3 will drive the definition, design and implementation of resources, shared components and/or core application frameworks with primary focus on cloud-based application services and data analytics cloud solutions using the Microsoft Azure technology stack.  

Assesses the immediate and long-term strategic goals of the organization as relates to technological needs.

Actively participate in the development and management of technology roadmap. Ensures technology solutions are aligned to solution patterns, application frameworks and the technology roadmap.

Builds cloud templates and governance standards for cloud Azure tenants that will support secure and efficient applications implementations, data management analytics and AI, while creating an agile DevOps culture capable of delivering technical excellence.

Evaluates architecture needs and gaps to build an Enterprise Cloud Architecture for the organization, including buy versus build evaluations and development/implementation of prototypes/pilots promoting common reusable enterprise technology solutions.

Actively mentors/coaches junior teammates to deliver technological solutions that provide value and meet departmental objectives. Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among teammates that allows for disagreement over ideas with expeditious resolution and appreciation for diversity, sparking cohesiveness and an effective working dynamic.

Collaborates with applications development teams and architects to promote the adoption of the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and integration of it in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to raise security awareness in application development.

Identifies and recommends new solutions for research and participates in proof of concept initiatives to explore new architectural strategies.

Identifies implementation risks of technology solutions and analyzes impact on achieving desired business outcomes.

Supports the new enterprise architecture (called ENCORE) and evaluates roadmaps for smooth and efficient migration or modernization of the legacy processes into cloud strategy.

Maintains the definition and documentation of architectural standards, reference architectures, processes and operating models. Stays informed on current cloud technology trends and the changing technology landscape.

Develops three-month (Program Increment) plans and roadmaps for cloud resources and infrastructure that aligns with app development and new technologies training and evaluations plans.

Performs security reviews and assessments together with Infrastructure, Security, App Dev management and Data Governance Board across the organization  

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

Education:

B.A. / B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology strongly preferred.

Experience:

Significant experience (15+ years) in supporting Infrastructure and Security for software engineering and application development teams required.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in enterprise technical or information architecture design required

Expertise in architecture frameworks required

Proven experience in designing, building and supporting multi-tiered enterprise systems

Certifications:

AWS Architect and/or Microsoft Azure Architect certification required.

Technical Skills:

Experience with support of hybrid frameworks like React Native, .Net Framework, .Net Core. Strong knowledge of security (risks and threats, authentication, authorization, certificates, encryptions) and familiarity with OWASP

Expertise in domain specific areas including Azure PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures

Expertise in Azure cloud services, such as: AD, ADB2C, AKS, Azure VNET, ExpressRoute, Azure Private Link, Azure Service Endpoints, Azure Traffic Manager, Powershell Scripting, Intune, App Proxy Server, WVD, Azure Site Recovery (ASR), Azure Storage Solutions, ARM Templates, Azure Load balancer, API Gateway and Azure AD

Math and Reasoning Ability:

Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some limited standardization exists. Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
