Job Title: Civil Engineer (Power production)

Location: Wanapum Lake, WA

Duration: Full time


Summary

This Power Production Civil Engineer will provide engineering support to the Dam Safety Engineering group through successful completion of structural, geotechnical or general civil engineering work assignments. The Dam Safety Engineering group is responsible for ensuring the District’s dam structures remain stable and robust through monitoring, inspections, engineering evaluations/studies/analyses and remediation projects.



Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible to assess, monitor, analyze and report on all dam safety engineering aspects associated with the Districts hydroelectric projects.
Write and/or review technical documents including letters, reports, studies and analyses for internal and external audiences including the FERC. Compile, analyze, interpret and report-on dam monitoring data associated with dam performance.
Assist with all aspects of meeting the FERC Engineering Guidelines pertinent to the District hydroelectric projects, including, but not limited to: structural and geotechnical stability, hydraulic and hydrologic considerations, emergency action planning and dam instrumentation and monitoring

· Perform Project Management for projects in accordance with District standards

o Prepare Project scopes

o Prepare estimates and project budgets

o Provide project justifications

o Assess project risks

o Maintain project schedules



Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering, 2+ years in discipline is preferred but not required. Washington State Engineering in Training Certificate and/or Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred.
A valid State driver’s license may be required.
