Client has an immediate opening for a Sr. AWS Data Storage Software engineer. As a Sr. member of this team you will contribute to the design and development of next generation AWS cloud-native SaaS products. You will support a risk modeling platform by researching, prototyping, and optimizing high-performance data access and storage technology stack.
As an important contributor to this team, you will provide the following day to day to responsibilities:
· Work on PoC (Proof-of-Concept) tasks researching technological feasibility and performance characteristics of proposed solutions
· You will be responsible for design and development tasks assigned as sprint deliverables
· You will be expected to conduct formal design and code reviews with other project stakeholders
· You will be expected to unit/system-test, trouble-shoot, debug, and resolve any software functional and performance issues
Required Technical skills
· 6+ years of industry experience developing commercial software products with focus on middleware and back-end systems
· Solid knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, design patterns, and best practices
· Thorough understanding of cloud computing and SaaS concepts
· Strong working knowledge of Linux OS, Python, scripting languages, and multi-threaded programming
· Hands-on experience developing SaaS systems on Amazon cloud platform leveraging AWS SDKs and storage PaaS technologies such as S3, Elastic Cache-Redis, etc.
· Familiarity with Big Data cloud tools and open-source formats such as Apache Parquet and Apache Arrow
