Job Description:

Under limited supervision, performs and documents moderately complex technical functions relating to test, quality control, lay-out, fabrication, modification, and assembly of mechanical or electrical equipment and/or components. Performs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, developmental Design duties in New Product Development engineering, where some judgement is required.

This position will have responsibilities across ETHICON and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solution (CSS) Companies Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies) including a span of multiple product platforms such as General Surgical Devices, Sutures, ENT, Infection Prevention, Electrophysiology and Surgical and Non-Surgical Aesthetics.

 

Under (e.g. limited supervision, general direction, etc.) and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

•  Identifies, designs and develops the necessary equipment related to new product development.

•  Performs material tests.

•  Studies the existing processes to implement improvements on new products.

•  Responsible for preparing and managing specifications.

•  Assists technicians and engineers about unusual problems. Responsible for purchasing and designing equipment that meets safety and environment requirements.

•  Performs activities of process/product validation.

•  Can supervise, coordinate and technically revise the work of a limited group of technicians. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

•  Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition

•  Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

•  For those who supervise a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

•  Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

•  Performs other duties assigned as needed
