Job Summary:

The Data Engineer will work in collaboration with and under the direction of the Director and Manager of Data Engineering to provide data services, governance, architecture, and visualization solutions for the Analytics team. This includes data ingestion and reporting for product performance, consumer digital shopping and ownership, field performance and modeling solutions for marketing and executive reporting.

High proficiency in MS Excel, Alteryx or SQL for data manipulation and translation

Programming SQL in a Hadoop/Cloudera distributed data environments

Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools: Domo, Datorama, Tableau, or Qlikview

Familiarity with APIs, RSS feeds and web services



The Day-to-Day

1. Data wrangling and ingestion of data sources from multiple parties into analytics platforms such as a DMP or Data Lake environment.

2. Devise business rules for data acceptance, translation and mapping.

3. Transform data feeds into reliable and easily updatable data extracts for use in reporting and modeling.

4. Collaborate with stakeholders to build and upgrade reports leveraging analytics tools.

5. Identify data relationships and develop solutions in various data blending tools.

6. Identify and supply proper data sets, write required rules and extract data sets for use by team members and partners.

7. Prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders, create project plans, determine level of effort, and maintain milestones.

8. Coordinate communication with internal teams.

· Handle personal information (“PI”) that pertains to any individual (e.g., leads, dealers, employees, job applicants, etc in accordance with Privacy Policy and public facing privacy statements on managed websites.

· Complete any required training.

· Promptly report any known or suspected loss, theft or unauthorized disclosure or use of PI to the General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer or Chief Information Officer.

· Adhere to the company’s compliance program.
· Safeguard the company’s intellectual property, information, and assets.
· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other quantitative discipline.

Experience:
· Experience working analytics, research, business intelligence or IT (5+ years
· Data engineering within digital marketing/advertising, automotive preferred (5+ years
· Experience automating routine data tasks using various software tools.
· Experience creating data visualizations, dashboards, executive reports or models.
