Candidate is responsible for coordinating and delivering a broad range of business intelligence .This role includes data preparation, data analysis and visual analytics to leverage its information resources to make data-driven business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytics aptitude/background with experience in business reporting and measurement, as well as financial services. This role requires the ability to lead projects and collaborating with high-performing Analytics, Information Technology, and other functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate critical thinking skills with ability to frame business issues and apply data analysis to support business cases and real-time decision-making
Understand visual analytics tools (examples SAS VA, Tableau), business intelligence systems, CRM applications, information management technology as well as experience with data analysis languages
Strong influencing, communicating and project management skills
Work with and be committed to cross-functional collaboration to achieve the best results, working across the business to build partnerships and ensure consistency in governance.
Ability to communicate in persuasive and compelling ways via electronic materials (Excel, Powerpoint) and in-person presentations to business partners and senior leadership.
Partner with team responsible for scaling data management and infrastructure to create environment for analytics.
Participate in data management projects/initiatives that aim to improve the quality of the data.
Maintenance of documentation and procedures regarding workflow processing and reporting
Coordinate with external vendors and develop strong relationships. Expand data-driven business decisions across the organization.
Required Experience/Skills:
The candidate must have sound communication skills
Must be able to comprehend business requirements and translate them into technical design specs and apply the same in the development process.
Must be a highly motivated and responsive team player with the ability to multi-task
Excellent coding and performance tuning skills adhering to established database development standards are critical to succeed in this role.
Ability to act as the technical lead at time and work under minimal supervision.
Desired Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required; Masters or MBA a plus
5+ years of related work experience
Experience in analytics (exposure to business activity reporting, statistical modeling and measurement), market research or related fields (financial services industry preferred)
Strong data analysis background in either R or Python, with SQL experience
Ability to work with and administer analytic and visualization tools, including Tableau and SAS Visual Analytics (this will be going away), and leverage them to build and design visualizations that transform data into actionable insight
Experience with multiple operating systems
Familiarity with and knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Map Reduce, Hive, Pig, Spark
Excellent written, oral communication skills, and the ability to present complex data and statistics in a simple and clear way
