Cox Automotive is seeking Software Engineer II to join our team Atlanta, GA. As a Software Engineer II, you will be a pivotal member of our team.

As a Software Engineer you will develop cutting-edge web applications enabling access to AutoTrader.com products and services. In this exciting position, you will work hands-on with Java 7, JBoss 8, Restful Webservices and Solr Search Engine in an Agile development environment. You will work on a collaborative software development team in a fluid, fast-paced environment. The Software Engineer will interact with development team members and business contacts and work on multiple concurrent development projects with minimal supervision. This position will play a key role in developing the next generation of AutoTrader.com functionality and capability.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Works with Product Management to understand the challenges that customers and end users face in their day-to-day
work and partner with them to design viable solutions. Recommends viable solutions to processes, technology, and
interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team and reduce technical debt.
Foresees capacity requirements for component usage and identifies limitations.

Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.

Contributes to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems.

Builds software applications across multiple platforms in response to the needs of stakeholders.

Understands technical architecture and writes software and automated tests that are aligned with agreed upon
standards.

Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary.

Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.

Actively works with less experienced software engineers providing technical guidance and oversight.

Qualifications:

2 – 5 years of working experience

Working experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and
components, client-facing web applications, and major Internet-oriented applications and systems

Working experience realizing applications from conception and design, to implementation and support

Working experience in coding within multiple technology stacks – (server, application, database using languages like
Java, frameworks like Spring, applications like JBoss or Spring Boot)

Working experience with application lifecycle methodologies (e.g. agile, iterative)

Working experience in analysis, design and programming.

Working experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies. Can communicate optimal use cases and write
queries.

Working understanding of CI/CD.

Exposure to cloud technologies in AWS or any other cloud provider.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional
experience and education
