Job Title: Ruby on Rail Developer with .NET
Location; Harrisburg, PA
Duration:6-12 Months
Responsibilities:
Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software.
Oversees testing and develops fixes.
Build APIs and web applications using Ruby that handle complex data models efficiently, while having great architectural design to manage complexity.
Attends to both business and technical considerations when designing solutions to project/team or company related issues.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision.
Maintains Superset Data and Dashboards
Performs prototyping, system analysis, development, fielding, and maintenance of systems
Will develop, code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software
Conducts software testing to ensure satisfaction of application development requirements
Supports software quality assurance and configuration management activities
Documents software procedures and develop software reports, plans, and products, such as software development plans, software requirements specifications, software design documents, software development files, source code, version description documents, and test plans
Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree in a related area or equivalent work experience
3 to 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
Experience using Ruby on Rails and Ruby Best Practices
Experience using Superset
Strong SQL coding background; understanding of SQL statement optimization/tuning
Skilled at building modern REST Web services
Experience with RESTful based APIs consumption and creation in Rails.
Preferred skills and competencies:
Languages: Ruby, Python, Javascript, JQuery, .NET, C#
Airflow workflow management system
Telerik Kendo UI
Experience consuming API/web-based services
Experience with HTTP and TCP/IP
Strong database skills with SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
Cloud –GitHub, Azure, AWS, Twitter Bootstrap
Must have basic experience for Linux/Unix CLI and using Git and GitHub for source code control.
Capable of debugging problems related to HTTP, XHR, JSON, CORS, SSL, S3, etc.
Able to investigate performance and memory issues.
Able to reduce complex requirements and user interaction flows into long-term API designs-
