Urgent :: Production Database Administrator (DBA) @ Charles Town, WV

Role: Production Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Charles Town, WV
Skills: SSIS, SQL 200X, MCDBA, MCITP, scripts
Experience: 6+Years
Job Mode: Permanent / Direct Hire

Visa requirement: US citizens, Greencard holders preferred

Note: Core coverage hours of support are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm but will responsible for off hours coverage when necessary

Synopsis of Role:
The Production Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for creating, optimizing, and managing multiple production and non-production databases and instances in support of proprietary and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) implementations in both the SQL and MySQL environments

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
Minimum five years’ hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft SQL 200X.
Demonstrated experience developing MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
Experience dealing with high availability environments, installing and configuring SQL servers, performance tuning, and troubleshooting databases.
Full understanding and knowledge of Replication options within SQL Server.
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred.
Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and above setup and administration.
Experience with 3rd party tools (RedGate, Solarwinds, Idera etc.
Experience with writing scripts.
Maintains database security in compliance with APEI policies, Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards.
