Database Administrator
Duration: 6-month contract to hire
Location: Southfield, MI

Notes:
At this time we are not open to considering candidates that require current or future immigration support (H4, EAD, TN, H-1B, et cetera)
We are open to non-local candidates, however, the candidate must be able to attend the final interview in person. The client will not be responsible for travle costs.

Outcomes & Activities:
? Coordinate design and maintenance of complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, security documentation, guidelines and statistical methods. Including maintenance of data dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures and integration of systems through database design
? Work with users to define the requirements of new systems development
? Develop and maintain standards, procedures and methodologies for effective operation and access
? Design, implement and modify physical database structures; evaluate, test and implement database management systems, utilities and tools
? Provide all support related issues for databases and application servers
? Coordinate database security requirements including basic education, user guidelines, and access authorizations
? Develop, maintain, and monitor documentation and procedural standards relating to all database projects
? Conduct and review tests of database systems to verify performance objectives and quality standards
? Refresh development and test databases as necessary
? Create storage groups, databases, tables and views, review SQL code, develop and enforce database standards
? Communicates availability requirements for database accessibility
? Assist in troubleshooting application problems
? Prepare time estimates for assigned projects
? Possess general understanding of the system deployment process and correlation with database administration responsibilities
? Assist in disaster recovery planning, testing and execution as needed
? Evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility
? Implement and upgrade large-scale system and application software packages
? Remain compliant with our policies, processes, and legal guidelines
Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
? Minimum of 2 years of experience administering Oracle databases 11g or 12c
? Experience in performance tuning
? Proficiency in PL/SQL coding, troubleshooting, and performance tuning experience in a high availability environment
? Experience in an Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment
? Experience with Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
? Experience installing, upgrading, and patching databases
? Proficient in Unix Shell Scripting
? Participate in 24x7 on-call rotational schedule
? Have the ability to access client remotely with personal provided hardware when on-call
? Work onsite at the assigned client work location
Preferred:
? Experience as DBA in a J2EE environment
? Oracle DBA certification
