Overview
A business relationship manager (BRM) is the liaison between IS and business functions across the institution. A BRM understands organizational business processes and provides technology guidance to ensure maximum return on investment (ROI) for IS business strategy requirements. A key BRM role is reducing business and IS barriers such as vendor relationship management and process improvement of project management methodologies. This is achieved by stimulating, surfacing, and shaping demand for capabilities and assets, in addition to ensuring that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized. This role will be responsible for organizing programs and projects to support the organization''s strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals. Budget development and operational oversight of project managers are within the scope of this role.
Responsibilities
The BRM is responsible for the following:

Providing overall management and value delivery of the project management team by managing the business requirements within the cost, time-frame, and quality standards defined by the portfolio.
Serving as a liaison between organizational departments and Information Services to facilitate organizational and strategic initiatives.
Supporting the Information Services Project Management Office (IS PMO) by ensuring adherence to the project management processes for the department.
Supporting the Change Control process by ensuring adherence to the change control processes for the department.
Providing day-to-day supervision of Informatics project managers and processes.
Pursuing professional development opportunities, including learning new hardware, software and other computer-related concepts through journals, books, seminars, user group conferences, networking with industry peers.

Minimum Education

Bachelor''s degree in a Healthcare discipline, Business Administration or Management, Information Systems or related field is required
Bachelor''s degree or advanced degree in Clinical Research, Clinical Informatics, or a clinical specialty is a plus.
PMP, PMI-ACP, or PgMP certification required

Minimum Experience

Eight (8) years of program or portfolio management experience required in a dynamic and progressive technological environment required
Clinical or Clinical Research program management experience is a plus
Five (5) years supervisory experience required Three (3) years budgetary planning and management required
Experience with implementation of global clinical trial management system
Experience with archiving legacy systems CTMS
Experience with full life-cycle support of clinical trial management applications

Other Credentials

Active Project Management certification from Project Management Institute
