Role: ETL Datastage Developer

Position Summary:
Highly technical position with an emphasis on providing expert consultative services to development teams and hands-on ETL and Data Warehouse development. Works closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, ETL Developers and various business stakeholders to support and provide quality of delivery for data extraction, transformation and load needs through the development of new and/or enhancement of existing routines. Works with Leadership to assess project scope and provides estimates for project timelines and cost feasibility as necessary. Requires exceptional technical and analytical skills.
Principal Responsibilities:
Analyze data requirements, complex source data and the data models to determine the best methods for extracting, transforming and loading the data into the warehouse
Design and implement processes that transform data for the Enterprise Data Warehouse according to business needs. This may include views, ETL and ELT processes that manipulate, aggregate, clean, or enrich the data
Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures
Manage data administration tasks such as scheduling jobs and troubleshooting job errors
Effectively communicate status, workloads, offers to assist other areas
Participate in design and implementation review sessions and ensure all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications
Productionize the ETL changes by going through the review and approval processes by interfacing with different teams like engineering, operations and DBAs
Interface with the business team and business analysts, support QA & UAT Testing, deployment, and Level 3 support for Data & ETL
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in ETL Data Integration, system analysisand Data Warehousing
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Possess a thorough understanding of the software implementation lifecycle (SILC) and Agile development
Demonstrates advanced analytical skills for complex data structures and big data.
Possesses strong experience with major commercial ETL tools (DataStage, Talend)
Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and architecture. Understanding of star/snowflake schema design; dimension and fact tables
Experience is writing complex SQL and PL SQL for data processing and reporting environments.
Experience in data modeling and data architecture (logical and physical) for a Data Warehouse environment
Expert in overall ETL Data Integration Architecture for very large, high volume transaction Data Warehouses with near -real time analytical requirements
Experience with high-scale distributed MPP databases such as Greenplum and standard RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL,Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server) and cloud warehouse like Snowflake
5+ years of experience working with Unix / Linux Shell Scripts
Experience working with public cloud like AWS or Azure
Experience in CI/CD and working knowledge of Jenkins, Bitbucket, JIRA
Strong written and verbal communication skills: including both with technical peers as well as business partners
