SAP IS-Retail Implementation experience specifically in Finance
Strong testing (manual as well as tool based) experience not only as a team member but as Testing lead (SAP implementation projects)
Considering a lead role, need strong communication & interpersonal skills
Position Summary
Looking for a senior resource that have exposure to working in large SAP implementations (in retail) across multiple modules. Someone who can assess the SAP initiative and define, develop and implement test strategy for the SAP deliverable with minimum guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and deliver Test Strategy document by collaborating with developers, architects, product owners and business
Identifies testing scope across multiple test levels
Interfaces with Architects, Senior Developers and Product Owners to clarify requirements
Works independently to develop and test programs of varying complexity and scope for SAP modules
Establish and implement approach for managing test data.
Extend verification points to ensure function point failures are not repeated.
Perform execution of automated and/or manual test cases and report on results.
Maintain test assets/library.
Verify defects through analysis to confirm application failure or maintenance required on test assets.
Report clear concise defects discovered through testing and escalate where appropriate.
Analyzing opportunities for automation of test execution, results analysis, test data creation and environment configuration;
Identification of test environment configuration necessary to support test execution;
Analyzes for opportunities to increase testing efficiencies in development deliverables;
Identification of root cause for test failures.
Works within the project team and test team to address issues and report status;
Works with the Developers to collaborate on deliveries to test environments and debugging of results.
Coordinates manual and/or automated test execution with other team members.
Analyze functional requirements and system design to determine test strategy/plan for both manual and automated testing approach.
Develop manual and/or automated test cases based upon test strategy and test coverage;
Help develop test tools and techniques based upon the test strategy and coverage; Extend test automation frameworks to support test strategy.
Work with Developers on defining deliverables based upon test strategy;
Execute test cases and analyze failures for root cause;
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the test execution and analysis of results.
Provide recommendations in the area around test automation strategies, tool selection and test environment configuration across products;
Decision making opportunities in the areas of functional test coverage, metrics analysis and quality assessment.
Evaluation/selection of appropriate tests, testing methods, etc., leveraging technical expertise to make independent decisions.
Preparation of daily/weekly reports as needed
Specific Job Knowledge
Proven experience in developing test scripts in manual and/or automated test environments;
Proven experience with manual and/or automated test execution including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting;
Responsibilities require analysis of variety of complex options, and ability to make independent decisions on unique or varied matters
Broad knowledge of hardware and software platforms
Fundamental programming knowledge (e.g., organized, structured, commented code);
Experience with Configuration Management principles and tools;
Proven experience with Test Management and Defect Management Tool usage and configuration;
Demonstrated understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance;
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Good troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail required;
Experience with complex products desired;
Ability to lead small projects and teams;
Identification, development and utilization of metrics for decision support;
Mentoring skills and experience.
Ability to analyze business requirements and overall system design to drive test strategies.
Experience in these modules is required - Finance - AP/AR, FI-CA, Project systems, Tax , Treasury , Business planning & Consolidation , Fixed Assets
Exposure to these modules is an added plus -SC/MM - MM, IM, LE, QM (quality management), WM Warehouse management.
Integration between FICO and MM/IM SAP modules: account determination, etc.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with SAP integration and extension methods: IDocs, BAPI, BADI, etc.
SAP IS-Retail Merchandising , Master Data (Articles, Vendors, Merch and Article Hierarchies), Assortments,, Pricing, Promotions, and etc.
Exposure to at least 2 full life cycle SAP IS Retail implementations
10+ years of SAP experience
