Location: Ashburn, VA USA.

Description:
· The position involves providing both IMS and DB2 zO/S Database Administration for Mainframe applications. The DBA will need a broad and deep knowledge of IMS (on-line and Batch) and DB2 z O/S, as well as other technologies/tools, e.g. BMC, Delta IMS, Endevor, JCL, and Batch processing.
· The DBA will conduct performance monitoring and tuning activities, backup and recovery as well as troubleshooting applications on IMS and DB2 databases.
· This position also includes on-call rotation duties and participation in all event bridges and leading the technical troubleshooting and implementation of the solution.
· Incumbent exercises considerable judgement in the resolution of technical problems and in all administrative and professional situations.
· Work is performed under limited supervision and is evaluated while in progress and upon completion through direct observation, discussion, review of established procedures and achievement of desired results.
· Minimum 6-10 years of experience.
JOB DUTIES:
· IMS and Db2 z O/S DBA support for wireline applications: Design and build testing environments, and Production implementation.
· Performance tuning and Troubleshooting
· Monitor IMS and DB2 databases space utilization
· Work with Change control and application teams for coordination with Production Release implementation
· Maintenance procedures using BMC Utilities (COPY, REORG, MODIFY, RECOVER)
· Review, implement, and maintain security procedures across the databases
· Provide advice and support to development resources.
· 24x7 on-call support rotation (DB2 and IMS applications)
· Participate in all event bridges and lead the technical trouble-shooting and implementation of the solution. Lead the postmortem technical meeting with the application, technical teams and partner vendors.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
· 6-10 years mainframe IMS (on-line and batch) and DB2 z O/S DBA expertise
· Experience with Delta IMS and HALDB and fast path databases
· Strong knowledge of SQL coding for performance on DB2 z/OS
· Experience with basic Explain tool for SQL and understanding of DB2 access paths
· Experience with IBM and BMC tools
· Experience working in a TSO/ISPF environment and Endevor
· Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions
· Willing to work a 24/7 on-call rotation
· Availability to provide weekend/off-hours support as needed
· Strong communication skills
· Strong work ethic
· Demonstrates good interpersonal skills
DESIRED SKILLS:
· Microsoft products or Google suite (docs, sheets, slides)
· Mainframe DBA experience with DB2 v12 and IMS v14
· Experience with Encryption (e.g. DB2 EditProc)
· Multi Logical Datacenter(LDC) and Logical Partition(LPAR) z/OS environment experience
· DB2 Datasharing environment.
· Experience working with QMF, REXX, COBOL and PL/1 programming languages
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent
· IMS and DB2 certifications a plus
