Data Analyst
Overview of position:
· Translates Business Rules and Requirements into analytical models
· Analyze, document and communicate source system data structures as well as explicit and implicit dependencies within and between data sources
· Works with Requirements Analyst, Data Architect, Data Modeler and the ETL Team to translate Business Rules into Technical Requirements for ETL processes
· Ability to drive the Source to Target Mapping Specifications process
· Drive the understanding/validation of data
· Discover/Mitigate/Validate problematic data and communicate with Source Teams and Data Warehouse Team
· Develop Data Migration solutions for disparate data sources
· Define and communicate cleaning and filtering requirements on data sources
· Identify integration points of new data sources with existing data and define integration mappings
· Develop ETL Mappings using SQL, Informatica, AWS, MPP Databases like Teradata, Exasol, Snowflake, Redshift or others.
Required skills:
· BS/BA degree and 5+ years of experience developing data warehouse solutions required; or equivalent levels of relevant education and experience.
· Data Warehouse Development & Design Experience
· Experience writing Source To Target mapping documents for ETL/ELT logic
· Experience with SQL and Python
· Experience working on ELT Technologies like Informatica
· Cloud Data Warehousing experience on AWS and any MPP Databases like Teradata, Snowflake, Exasol, Redshift etc.
· Strong understanding of scientific data and translating them to SQL Logic to load the data to our Cloud Data Warehousing platform.
