The NCDA&CS Food & Drug Division would like to create a Feed product registration system to handle daily regulatory responsibilities.
The NCDA&CS Food and Drug Protection Division’s Feed Section needs a software solution to integrate the various responsibilities of its regulatory programs as well as its Farmer Feed Testing Service. This solution must encompass the primary duties of each of the sections regulatory programs which are Inspections, Sampling, Product Registration, Label Review, Incident Tracking, and Investigations. As each of these programs may involve products and/or manufacturers that cross into more than one program, this solution must be fully integrated across the various programs. The new solution must also provide a public portal to allow registrants to register, and maintain products, and make online payments.
The NC Food and Drug Protection Division has been awarded the Animal Feed Regulatory Program Standards (AFRPS) Grant by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and must come into compliance with the standards as agreed upon over the next two. To accomplish this goal, the new system must align our programs with the standards established by FDA under the AFRPS grant, most notably Standard #3 Inspection Program, Standard #4 Inspection Audit Program, Standard #5 Feed Related Illness & Outbreaks & Response, and Standard #6 Compliance and Enforcement Program. We expect to go live with all phases of the project by July 2020.
