Location: Irvine, CA

Job Description

Develop and maintain escalation processes and networks that respond and support problem solving to ensure continued quality delivery of supply
Be assigned as the lead Supplier Development Engineer on the development of new projects
Monitor supplier performance Metrics and deploy improvement plans accordingly
Monitor site and BU supplier quality performance and lead/drive improvements in supplier quality metrics to ensure supplier quality goals are met
Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics (cost, delivery, service, quality, innovation, social responsibility, etc together with the sourcing team
Perform periodic process audits at supplier sites, Report audit rating, areas of risk, observations and improvement
Conducts Quality, Technical and EHS system assessments, in support of new sourcing, to determine if a supplier’s quality systems, technical competency and environmental policies meet IR’s expectations
Provides Supplier with technical oversight and expertise in areas such as Process Development, PFMEA, Measurement Systems, Control Plans and Error Proofing
Drives on-time PPAP and Flawless Launch for responsible components
Continually monitors assigned suppliers “SCAR” status and works with suppliers and plant SQE to minimize quality impact to our Operations and end Customer
Acts as a quality subject matter expert, working in conjunction with Plant SQE and Suppliers in 8D problem solving - leading cross-functional teams on major issues resolution at Supplier locations
Performs advanced analysis (Commodity, Quality Systems, DPPM, DMR) to determine trends along with proposed actions to drive performance improvement


Knowledge of supplier quality processes (production part approval process, advanced product quality planning, first article inspection reports, etc
Knowledge and ability to apply quality tools and techniques (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Problem solving, LSS…)
Solid personal computer skills with strong capability with Microsoft Office products; Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Knowledge of supplier quality processes (Production Part Approval Process, Advanced Product Quality Planning, First Article Inspection Reports, etc
Highly experienced in supplier quality processes (production part approval process, advanced product quality planning, first article inspection reports, etc
Knowledge of supplier quality processes
Strong communication skills are essential, able to confidently articulate ideas and solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
