Core Business Operations – Project Delivery Specialist – DB2 LUW DBA

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

Attends team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, work tasks, and issues
Provides primary on-call support on a rotational basis.
Completes specific team task activities as outlined in the project work plan and other job-related duties as assigned
Maintains close coordination with the Analysts at various geo locations with respect to the status of tickets, issues etc.
Creates and maintains regular status reports and provides verbal and written status to Project Managers, as required
Around 60% of the analyst’s time will be spent on solving break-fix issues. The other 40% will be dedicated to Optimization and Enhancement requests.
Expected to be onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours may exceed 40 hours per week depending on project needs.
Present and discuss work results clearly with senior team members
Prepare comprehensive documentation according to project methodology
Experience in supporting large RDBMS systems
Strong working knowledge of the Linux environment
Strong working knowledge of DB2 LUW version 10 and above
Support DB2 in a PureScale environment
Be responsible for the integrity of Production, Test and QA database environments
Experience managing and tuning static SQL and dynamic SQL environments
Build – Will build programs/scripts independently without minimal or no handholding. Also should be able to guide the junior members of the team technically. Will also perform code and design reviews.
Communication – Will be responsible for at least one module and will work with the Technical Lead/Project Manager for status reporting and client communication.
Deployment Activities – Will work with Release manager/Technical Leads to work towards planning for project/product deployment and will also involve in all the activities around deployment.
Value Add – Should be able to think laterally and see optimization/Improvement opportunities in the code and suggest improvements to Leads/managers.
Post Deployment Activities – Will work on Incidents/Problems reported and also perform RCA for issues.
Deliverables – Will be involved in documenting and maintaining the correct version of various deliverables such as Code/BRDs/Design Docs/test plans and Scripts/Deployment Plan etc.

The Team
Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with infrastructure/architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts. They leverage resources onshore and abroad to ensure projects are supported at all times.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
6+ years of relevant work experience
Willing to travel up to 25%
Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and innovative approach to finding resolutions
Must have excellent knowledge on the below technologies:
o Should have good knowledge of DB2 LUW architecture and database administration
o Work experience in both implementation and application management projects
o Experience in supporting large RDBMS systems
o Strong working knowledge of the Linux environment
o Database performance monitoring and tuning
o Hands on experience on DB2 LUW V10 and above
o Familiarity with PureScale technology
o Strong working knowledge of the Linux environment, including proficiency and skill in VI editor, DB2 and Linux OS commands, shell scripting
DB2 LUW DBA -
o Database object creation and maintenance
o Performance tuning and trouble-shooting
o Security implementation
o Alerting/monitoring
o Database manager/database configuration settings tuning
o DB2 LUW commands/utilities
o Linux commands, VI editor
o Applying fixpack maintenance/performing upgrades
o Disaster Recovery/HADR planning and testing
Linux System administration :
o Environment – Linux RedHat OS, DB2 LUW v11.1 in a PureScale environment
o Language – Java
o File Management – DB2 LUW Automatic Storage Management
o Standard Tools – DB2 LUW utilities (db2top, db2pd, Snapshot Monitor, etc, VI editor, Cavisson, DBI
