Overview
Responsible for enhancing Data Management processes and database systems to ensure complete and accurate data capture and accelerating data delivery to scientists, including data curation and proactive data error discovery and resolution.
Serves as a technical resource for basic research within the Virology division of Infectious Diseases. Manages and conducts data entry, reporting, curation, and analysis for all new and existing systems. Coordinates data acquisition, database implementation and maintenance, data analysis, and report generation. Trouble-shoots, evaluates, and implements quality control initiatives of existing systems. Explores, recommends, tests, and implements new or alternative data solutions and designs.
Minimum Education
Bachelor''s degree is required in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related field
Minimum Experience
Three (3) years of experience in database development and/or information systems development and systems analysis required
Experience in a research or academic setting preferred
Basic science concept and/or biology background preferred
Experience with R, Perl, Java, or C# is preferred
Experience working with SAS/SPSS packages is preferred
Experience with relational databases/database architecture is preferred
