Job Description :
Data Network Engineer to join their team in the Hartford, CT area, on a long-term contract basis.

Provides data network engineering for hardware and/or software, design, planning and implementation of complicated computer networks to meet business needs. Provides support for complex networks in regards to planning, configuration, and optimization. Executes code/development based on established designs, and maintains existing or proposed products/systems. Knowledge and understanding of the following are essential: load balancing, firewalls, IPS''s, APIs networks, servers.

Leads and participates with the development of enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new software and by modifying/enhancing existing software applications. Leads design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions as part of a team. Performs complex analyses of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems. Assists with communicating the design and resolving technical/design conflicts as they occur. Coordinates closely with business analysts and users to determine requirements. Reviews systems under development and related documentation. Leads the resolution of customer issues and responses to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software. Contributes and assists principal engineers in advanced systems planning, scheduling and implementation. Mentors and fosters growth of peers and team members. May work on-call shifts on a rotation basis.

May coach and mentor less-experienced analysts and act as team leader on systems projects.

A. Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study. Five years of previous experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS and five or more years of software development experience.

Required: Knowledge of project management/change management in regards to acquisition/development life cycles. Systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis Knowledge of enterprise coding standards. Hands on experience in writing more complex code. Ability to perform code reviews. Knowledge of software methodologies. Ability to learn new and emerging technologies. Ability to lead a group to consensus, solve problems, and accomplish tasks. Ability to mentor and train less knowledgeable peers and individuals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to change. General business knowledge and concepts.
