WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred
5+ years of related experience in complex data environments
5+ years of experience in strong SQL background
5+ years of hands on experience in database and SQL performance tuning
3+ years of scripting experience in Linux sell / python / Perl
3+ years of experience with XML, JSON, SOAP structure file formats
Excellent understanding of relational database concepts, impact of design on performance
Strong experience with master data modeling best practices and data warehousing concepts
Experience using data modeling tools like Erwin, Toad, Embarcadero, etc.
Experience using Hadoop / Cloudera / Impala / Hive
Experience using industry standard version control systems like SVN, GIT
Experience working with BI tools for data visualization like Tableau
Excellent written and, verbal, analytical and presentation skills
Experience in the logistics/transportation industry or adjacent industries applicable to WWEX
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES:
Understands the current data structures to get good grasp of as is environment
Designs master data model across all business functions
Creates logical and physical data models for next generation across the entire product lifecycle
Develops and maintains data model policies and standards based on industry best practices
Provides support to ensure appropriate implementation of master data model recommendations within software and systems
Evolves the overall master data model, including the functions, entities within those functions and attributes within those entities as the platform design is completed and business needs shift and change
Supports overall master data governance process
Ensures strong collaboration with business teams on any changes required to master data model to meet future business needs
Defines criteria, specifications and data standards for the creation, storage and usage of operational and analytical data models. Standards include naming conventions, derivation and other quality measures
Ensures master data model meets the need of both the operational business needs and the needs of the Business Intelligence teams to ensure master data model meets their future analytical and reporting needs
