Data Architect (SSIS / SSAS ) |TULSA OK|6-12 Plus Months Contract
JOB SUMMARY: Incumbent is responsible for the data foundation and tasks related to the expansion and optimization of data architecture to empower business units with ready access to data required for business planning and decision-making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:
Collaborate with IT Software Developers and Data Architects, as well as business unit Data Analysts, Engineering Techs, and Oil and Gas Engineers on transformational company data initiatives and process improvements, ensuring an optimal and consistent data delivery architecture throughout the company
Design and implement scalable Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other methods and tools as required
Develop and tune SQL code in multiple data platforms (SQL Server, Vertica, Oracle, Virtualized Data environment, MDM environment)
Develop and support enhancements to existing Cimarex Data Warehouse (SSIS, SSAS, SQL)
Manage code using Git code repository in Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
Gather operational data requirements with team members and business stakeholders, assessing the validity and business-sense of data warehousing models for end-user consumption
Contribute technical leadership in researching and evaluating new software and technologies to meet growing data analysis needs
Train and educate business users on existing and new data solutions
Review team code for quality, accuracy and adherence to standards
Help define best practices, policy, and standards for data architecture development processes and technology, develop and train less experienced technical staff
Other tasks as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field highly preferred; Combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Visual Studio SSIS package development
Expertise in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other advanced business intelligence concepts related to data extraction, transformation, loading, scheduling, etc.
Expertise with relational databases (SQL) and analytics database(s) (i. e. Vertica)
Experience with time-series data (SCADA or IoT)
Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes
Understanding of Kimball approach for data mart development, multi-dimensional database structures, e. g. Star Schemas
Familiarity with cloud data architecture
Appreciation for how downstream data analysis applications utilize enterprise data (Spotfire, Excel, Power BI)
Upstream oil and gas IT experience preferred
Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analysis, verbal and written communications skills required
Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task with attention to accuracy
Must be team player able to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
Competent at the highest technical level, understands whole systems architecture, has multi-systems knowledge and background
Ability to work alone, as an individual contributor
