Job Description :
Develop logical and physical data models under direction of eCDP architecture team
In partnership with the architecture and development teams ensure that the database architecture and designs are represented in supporting data models across the eCDP architecture
Ensure that models are managed and checked into the model repository and made available through the portal
Create data dictionaries for new models and define metadata for new structures and data elements, by:
o Pulling information from existing documentation and models
o Working with the Business Data Analysts and business owners to document new structures and elements
Support eCDP Architects with coordination of solution by providing updated data models for enhancements
Management of metadata environment, including business metadata
Management of reference data
Experience communicating to both business and technical teams
Experience in developing conceptual, logical and physical data models for operational databases, data warehouses and data marts
o Experience with PowerDesigner preferred
Basic understanding of structure data files, like JSON, Avro, Parquet and ORC a plus
Experience in the development and management of business and technical metadata
Solid understanding of data management fundamentals
These individuals will be building out a data architecture for a data platform. They will need to create a logical, conceptual and physical data models and build out a corresponding data dictionary using power designer or similar data modeling tool.
Position will involve sessions with business analysts and developer and translate the data into business requirements.
Developer background is a nice to have but not as important as the design experience.
JSON, AVRO, Parquest and ORC is a nice to have.
Dimensional transaction modeling experience is what is key for this potion. In addition they should also understand basic SQL and how to retrieve data from a database, No data integration tool experience required for this role.
