Mobility Business Group (MBG) lives at the intersection of the network and software Applications. We are responsible for key technologies that enable service providers to scale their business by providing new experiences for their customers by creating programmable networks. The product portfolio includes Packet Core, network analytics, policy control, Self-Optimizing Network (SON) capabilities to give network operators better tools for monetizing traffic.
Customer Solution Verification Engineer position is responsible for all aspects of testing and reporting on the overall quality of the technologies that we provide. Since we integrate into so many of Cisco''s core
technologies, collaboration across boundaries is necessary to make the most efficient use of our resources and people. Automation is essential as we move to a DevOps environment and continue to deliver high quality products at a fast pace.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with various functional groups to develop integrated solution testing strategies
* Oversee all test plan development for multiple solutions, products and technologies especially focused on specific customer solutions
* Execute/Automate different system tests based on new features being developed in the release
* Execute/Automate regression tests to ensure build quality in each release
* Simulate labs to execute customer specific testing
* Continue to hone our QA processes and tools
* Continue to push the boundaries of automated testing processes and complete the transition to CI/CD and DevOps model
* Help define metrics and provide health dashboards for all projects to higher level management
* Plan and manage overall labs, tools and associated infrastructure needs
* Interact with customers and field support teams for issue resolutions and requirements
* Ability to analyze defects and take corrective actions to improve customer experience
* Drive new technology roadmaps around 5G and Kubernetes
* Coordinate with geographically distributed team of quality assurance engineers
Requirements
* Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or other technical degree
* 10+ years of experience
* Experience with test analysis, test planning and test case design
* Deep working knowledge of 3GPP /3GPP2 standards, Wireless Packet Core Standards testing, IETF Standards, LTE Protocol testing, DIAMETER, RADIUS
* Significant experience with and detailed knowledge of system and solution level testing
* Practical experience on testing both hardware and software network elements
* Experience with test equipment & tools: Traffic Generators (dsTest etc, Wireshark, ethereal etc.
* Strong knowledge of Agile processes
* Significant experience building CI/CD and DevOps pipelines
* Proven ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams
* Exposure to 5G and Kubernetes is highly desirable

* Good overview of LTE, IMS Core network
* Detailed knowledge on PCRF and DRA components
* Exposure to PCRF and DRA use cases like Metering, Quota, QoS step up/down, ToD procedures, Routing, Load balancing
* 3GPP Diameter Protocol
* 3GPP Gx, Gy, Rx, Sy, Sd, Sh interfaces
* TCP/IP, SCTP, SOAP, REST protocols
* 5G Architecture and network elements
Platform
* Installation and basic administration of VMW, OSP platforms
* Intermediate level knowledge on Linux, CentOS
* Exposure to Kubernetes: installation and administration
* Exposure to Microservices
System and Solution Testing
* Hands on exposure to different types of performance tests
* Exposure on system testing in agile environment (Scrum, Sprints)
* Artefacts required and generated during system testing
* Exposure to traffic generators like dsTest
Automation
* Shell Scripting, Python
* Exposure to automating system tests
* Exposure to any automation framework
* SVN/Git concepts
* BDD, Cucumber, Maven, Jenkins
* Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps pipeline
