Title: Business Analyst
Location: Stamford, CT (Contract)
Profile Requirement:
Business Analyst with BI reporting experience:
Leads and participates in gathering complex and often unique business requirements by defining the business problem and data requirements.
Utilizes an advanced understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead the design, development and implementation of decision support solutions, which may include data visualization, business intelligence, or data collection.
Partners with the business operations to ensure effective design of decision support solutions.
Develops innovative approaches to address complex business problems and solutions.
Partners with IT to influence the design, alignment, and implementation of technical standards to address appropriate business solutions.
Monitor, process, and deliver reports data by adhering to timelines and priority
Complete special projects as requested
Organize, optimize and debug data-driven reporting, BI and analytics applications
Develop, maintain and document data model, data dictionary and data flow diagrams
Build interactive dashboards in PowerBI based on business, technical, and/or design requirements for third party consumption
Support typical data transformation within PowerBI or as a staging to PowerBI: joins, normalization, aggregations, derived variable creation using mathematical expressions
Work with product owner and customers to clarify requirements, size feature requests, and prototype/QA/deliver in agile manner
Provide input on data engineering and architecture to achieve user needs and have an efficient, easy to maintain, dashboards
Utilizes an advanced understanding of multiple data structures and sources to lead the design, development and implementation of decision support solutions, which may include data visualization, business intelligence, or data collection.
Also able to do data analysis on the source data before bringing in to warehouse that would involve working with various source teams
What You Will Need:
Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent
3-5+ years experience as Data Engineer/Business Analyst/Data Analyst/BI Analyst
Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize data to design and deliver meaningful solutions
Experience implementing Reporting, BI, Visualization and Analytics tools such Power BI / Tableau
High level knowledge of database performance and tuning, troubleshooting and query optimization and tuning
Ability to understand business functionality, processes and flows
Good combination of technical and interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
Follow SCRUM Agile Development methodology
Experience in optimizing Microsoft Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization ,Significant experience building UI mockups and optimizing dashboard for user experience , row level security and custom visuals for PowerBI
Intermediate to advanced understanding of MDX/DAX language
Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data access and basic transformation
Experience in various forms of data modeling of relational schema, including both physical and conceptual modeling
