Our direct client is looking for an Oracle Developer for a contract in Santa Monica, CA
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test and maintain database objects like tables, views, packages, functions, procedures, indexes, sequences and triggers in Oracle.
- Design and develop custom ETL or ELT workflows using scheduling automation tools like Tidal.
- Strong knowledge and experience of SQL and PL/SQL programming.
- Strong understanding of Oracle Database fundamentals and features.
- Performance tuning of SQL, analyzing the AWR and advanced SQL, PL/SQL writing skills.
- Integrate data products with java and .net applications
- Utilize advanced Oracle features and techniques where appropriate to develop robust, reliable and high-performance solutions
- Translate requirements into technical specifications including the physical and logical data modelling, designing and data flow diagrams.
- Create reliable, performant, scalable architecture and effectively communicate with stake holders and teammates.
- Strong foundation on analyzing the data and business scenarios with attention to detail.
- Create operations and technical documentation for developed systems and applications
- Maintain awareness of new Oracle features and techniques
- Participate in and support QA and user-acceptance test procedures and environments
- Configuring monitoring and proactively reviewing statistics for errors, capacity and performance issues.
- Effectively participate in investigation and resolution of production issues.
- Production support requires working on shifts on nights and weekends as dictated by the business requirements.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to deliver on-time.
SKILL MATRIX
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar major - Required
- Experience developing database applications in PL/SQL using Stored procedures, Packages, Functions and Complex SQL - Required
- Performance tuning of SQL, analyzing the AWR and advanced SQL skills - Required
- Experience of developing applications on Oracle 11g and 12c databases on a Linux or Unix-based platform – Required
- Solid knowledge of Linux / Unix operating systems and shell programming is required – Required
- Java, Perl, Python, Rexx programming - Plus to Have
- Sound understanding of development life cycle and version control - Required
- Experience developing on other RDMS like Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
- Understanding of SDLC process and tools, agile project management concepts and version control - Required
- Experience with TIDAL (Cisco) enterprise scheduler is preferred
- Excellent problem solving, issue identification, analytical and technical documentation skills - Required
- Extensive SQL Query tuning using different tools. Clear understanding of query plan - Required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment - Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Required
- The person must have the ability to work in a fast-paced business environment - Required
- The candidate must be willing to take on-call rotation and occasional weekend work - Required
