Network Architect

Austin, Texas

6-12 months+

End Client: Skyline Technology Solutions

Interview Mode: F2F and Need Locals

Experience: 10-12+ Years



Core Responsibilities:


Network Analysis (30% of time)


Work with Clients to compare business objectives to operational network and recommend strategic changes to meet objectives.
Investigate major network incidents and their cause to determine if operational changes need to be made to better insure service availability.
Serve as subject matter expert reviewer for all major network changes.
Creating detailed physical and logical network diagrams, As-Builts, for operational personnel consumption.   create process for maintaining diagrams in relation to change management process.
Forecast which product lines need to be implemented in
Research applicable technologies to client’s network to improve manageability and operations.


Statements of Work for projects related to operational improvements )20% of time)

Create detailed hours breakdown of job tasking
Assist Business Development Group with client interactions
Work with Project Managers to ensure Statement of Work is outlined in project plan
Review peers’ Statements of Work to ensure completeness and accuracy


Network Deployment of operational improvements planning (20% of time)

Taking statements of work and creating schedule with project manager
Working with deployment team technical staff on deployment strategies
Creating device configurations for deployment
Creating final bill of materials and working with logistics on ordering
Working with Infrastructure and Systems teams and scheduling resources as needed.
Creating operations hand-off package to include detailed network diagrams and deployment philosophy
Working with operations team and schedule hand-off of network from deployment teams


Staff Mentoring (10% of time)

Schedule time with staff for knowledge share
Attend/present lunch and learns for technical staff
Engage with staff during buildouts to provide guidance
Work with technical staff on new technologies or troubleshooting techniques


Subject Matter Expert (SME) Escalation Support (15% of time)

Be escalation point for NOC and Operations Engineers
Attend vendor “new technology” seminars to remain current                                                     


Professional Training and Development (5% of time)

Personal growth in management and leadership techniques and styles                                                                                             




EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


BS degree 
CCNP, CCIE or equivalents.
8-10 years working/designing with Carrier/Large Enterprise level networks.
