Job Purpose/Summary
Company is evolving their approach to business intelligence and analytics.
As part of this overall strategic transformation, MicroStrategy has been
selected as one of the leading tools being leveraged to drive increased
business value. The BI Master Data Management development group is charged
with creating and developing the essential solutions to drive business value
and guide the company into the future.
As a MicroStrategy Software Specialist, you will serve as the technical
subject matter expert to the overall BI group and the Business Front End
Operations Team. You will be expected to advise the group on the technical
capabilities and limitations of the MicroStrategy platform and participate
in developing overall strategies necessary to fully leverage the platform
and drive its stickiness and adoption. Such strategies could be related to
overall operational security, infrastructure development and maintenance,
upgrades, application functionality, architecture setup and other
strategically related topics, as opposed to project focused deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the BIMDM strategy by providing technical oversight and
guidance to the various teams
* Assist support, project teams and deliverables by providing
technical leadership on MicroStrategy specific issues
* Work with BI project stakeholders to ensure that project
requirements align with technical capabilities
* Work with various teams to develop, implement, and maintain best
practice standards
* Oversee and maintain capacity planning in conjunction with
Engineering stakeholders
* Play a technical liaison role between business, security management,
and data management stakeholders in maintain and developing present and
future security/access control modules
* Provide guidance and direction around best methods for performance
optimization
* Ensure clear and consistent communication around MicroStrategy
topics between BIMDM leadership, business and other stakeholders
* Willing to travel internationally as needed - 20-30%

Required Experience and Skills
* Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in an IT related field
* 5-7 years experience (including stand-up of an environment) with
MicroStrategy v 10.x preferred including the following roles
* Developer
* User Admin
* Architect
* Server Admin
* Experience with Java programming and/or MicroStrategy SDK
* Ability to read and interpret SDK
* Ability to create and implement SDK
* Demonstrated capabilities with overall data warehouse concepts and
fundamentals
* Experience with MicroStrategy Mobile
* Experience with Teradata and Oracle, including performance
optimization/tuning
* Experience with Hadoop or other Big Data is a nice to have
* Experience creating essential documentation around dashboards,
documents, and support, including best practices for these structures
* Experience in developing and implementing internal and end user
training
* Demonstrated capabilities reading and writing SQL
* Experience with UX and other tenets of interaction design
* Exposure to predictive analytical applications
* Experience with Agile or other iterative software development
methodologies
* Ability to drive strategic direction across multiple teams
* Valid documentation for international travel. Will be required to
travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
