Principal Engineering Program Manager
Location: Burlington, MA
Duration: Full Time

At Client, we have made it our mission to secure the world’s software and keep our customers out of the headlines – at least for security issues! We deliver state-of-the art security scanning technologies with a unique platform to scale effective application security programs.

Our Engineering team is looking to hire an experienced Program Manager. We are implementing an aggressive roadmap, multiple significant engineering initiatives, and a sweeping technology evolution to microservices, cloud, and DevOps. We need strategy and execution across products and scrums to deliver effectively across this portfolio. The Program Manager will drive goal alignment, transparency of KPIs, and management of execution, dependencies and risks.
In this role, you will report to the VP of Engineering. You will work collaboratively with Engineering, UX, Product Managers, Scrum Leads, Architects, and engineering partners at VirtusaPolaris. You will play a pivotal role enabling the success of this smart, fun, and energetic team, who love working for client, as well as working with each other.
Responsibilities
Program Management for roadmap, technology evolution, and strategic technology initiatives.
For each initiative manage delivery expectations with stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering leads, Product Managers, and architects. Provide timely communication on project and portfolio-level performance, issues and risks.
Run a cross-team scrum of scrums to ensure priorities are clear and the flow of work is well understood. Track cross-team dependenciesand proactively mitigate risks.
Roll-up metrics across the portfolio. Promote and extend existing metrics, introduce new metrics.
Understand the software development system end-to-end. Invest in continuous improvement – identifying choke points, developing and implementing strategies to improve effectiveness.
Promote and enable SDLC Best Practices to support overall program success.
Set standards for how scrum teams roll-up status, risks, and dependencies.
In a matrix-management model, support Scrum Masters to ensure metrics are current and transparent.Ensure best practices are well-understood and executed effectively.
Foster a vibrant culture that values trust, collaboration, and dedication to quality.
Skills and Requirements
- 8+years technology experience in high-growth companies with at least 4 years in Project or Program Management.
- Solid track record managing successful projects, and demonstrated ability to continuously improve software development systems.
- Hybrid methodology experience in Agile and traditional program management. Scrum Master Certification is required. Experience with Scaled Agile is desired.
- Accountable and outcome-oriented with excellent Influencing and negotiating skills.
