Technical Project Manager
Trenton, NJ
6 Months Contract To Hire

Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates effective leadership and motivates teams working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to deal with a fast-paced environment, adapt accordingly and /or escalate as needed
Good understanding of the software development lifecycles & methodologies
Ability to gain a clear understanding of business functionality being delivered; comfortable in having functional discussions pertaining to the project with business sponsors
Ability to work with Technical Leads and project teams to determine estimates, and create and maintain detailed schedules; ability to grasp complex technical concepts easily and be able to participate in high-level technical discussions
Ability to manage projects using the Agile methodology (Scrum) and comfortable with tooling (Rally, Jira) and Agile metrics; comfort in utilizing Agile metrics to plan and monitor projects
Demonstrates personal accountability and judgment based decision making skills; accepts responsibility for product delivery, responsible for related problem solving, identifies obstacles to progress, and takes action/escalates
Works effectively with resource managers to acquire and manage appropriate resources
Ability to facilitate requirements sessions with cross-functional teams

Job Requirements
Ability to effectively manage teams of 10 – 15 members to produce high-quality deliverables
Demonstrated ability to apply and adapt project management methodologies and techniques (monitor project progress, identify and manage risks/ issues/changes, create and maintain software product Work Breakdown Structure (WBS
Competency with the core areas of technical project management, with proven success managing multiple medium-sized software development projects simultaneously
Demonstrated experience in utilizing Agile methodologies in project management
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple streams of work (vendor/consultant activities) and integrate into an overall project plan
Effective communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and facilitation skills
Experience with Property and Casualty (P&C) required
Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance principles (i.e. Premium, Reserves, Claims, Risk / Loss) preferred
Strong Experience with managing implementations of Custom or Commercial off-the Shelf (COTS) solutions required; Guidewire experience preferred
Experience with project management tools (Microsoft Project, PlanView, Rally, Jira)
Experience with Program Management an advantage
Experience in managing Internet projects desired.
