Payroll Systems Business Analyst

Job Requirements

Clientl has hallenging opportunity for a Business Analyst to
oversee the *Payroll

and Time & Leave systems*, managing application upgrade projects,
developing enterprise reports, streamlining processes, patch testing, and
contributing to the operations of the semi-monthly payroll. Reporting to
the Director of Payroll, the Business Analyst will serve as the functional
lead or project manager for enhancements and upgrades to *Payroll systems,
including PeopleSoft Payroll and Time & Labor. *

Specific duties include:

Analyzing functionality of application upgrades to determine whether
current customizations and workarounds can be accommodated by the delivered
application.
Managing configuration issues, user acceptance testing, end-to-end
integration testing, updating of department documentation and training
materials, and communication with the campus user community.
Analysis and documentation of all payroll interfaces and processes,
improving and streamlining to facilitate University Payroll processing and
operations.
Coordination with key stakeholders in HR, Benefits, Controller s Office,
FMC, and Administrative Systems to understand the system interconnections
between up- and downstream systems, and to ensure continuity of operations
across all University systems.
Interpreting and writing SQL scripts to determine program logic and to
analyze whether current business requirements are being met.
Maintaining and enhancing time and leave operational reports for the
campus user community.

*Qualifications: *

* Demonstrated experience in the use of ERP systems, particularly
PeopleSoft and Oracle Financials, and reporting tools such as OBIEE. *
End-to-end system implementation experience, including writing functional
design specifications, creating test cases, and analysis of test outcomes.
Proven ability to apply knowledge to analyze and interpret business
policies and complex external regulations and translate them into compliant
and efficient system processes.
Sufficient knowledge of SQL or similar scripting language, to be able to
interpret programming code as well as write scripts to extract data for
analysis.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the
ability to provide formal and informal system training to users with
differing levels of system experience.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, with high attention to detail.
A Bachelor s Degree in Business Information Systems, Accounting or
related field, plus at least 5 years experience working with enterprise
systems, preferably in a higher education environment.
