Role : Network Engineer-Life Cycle Engineering - IQN

Duration : 6 month contract possibility to extend

Location: Orlando Florida

Pay: $5055/hour

The key responsibilities of this position include development and management of Disney’s network software & lifecycle tracks for network infrastructure. This involves proactively planning and testing software and hardware releases with an objective of maintaining superior levels of security, reliability, and performance of the global network.

The candidate must have strong fundamental networking skills plus the knowledge and experience to work on a variety of complex network related initiatives. As such, the candidate may potentially work on general networking projects in addition to lifecycle work.

Key specific responsibilities:

Manage the hardware and software lifecycle for Disney’s footprint of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, and related systems

Research and recommend next generation network technology, products, & services.

Meet with vendors to discuss product offerings; recommend new products and services to meet project requirements.

Consult peer groups in the development of project plans, hardware/software roadmaps, and refresh plans.

Conduct lab tests, proofs-of-concept, bug scrubs, and other technical evaluations to ensure that new technology fits into the network and performs as expected.

Work with vendors to identify upcoming versions of code; plan for and conduct testing and bug scrubs.

Remain current with technology advancements in order to apply holistic lifecycle and capacity planning.

Develop standards, procedures, and other reference documentation to guide the various technology stakeholders throughout the company.

Participate in the development of a software-defined networking strategy.


7+ years in an enterprise environment that operates 7x24 services to a multitude of customers and business units with a progression of responsibilities spanning operations, implementation, design, and architecture.

Technical leadership experience in a large, complex enterprise (e.g. at least 30+ sites in multiple countries, at least 10-15k users but preferably 50k+ users

Required or Highly Preferred Certifications:

One or more advanced certifications such as CISSP, Cisco CCIE, CSSLP, or equivalent networking certifications or education.

And at least two manufacturer certifications in the areas of switching/routing, firewalls, IPS, load balancers, and other related network technology.


A successful candidate will have a balance of technical and non-technical skills. The candidate must have advanced data networking skills and experiences, both hands-on and theoretical. Other technical skills include wireless, voice, and security networking skills.

Working knowledge in networking and security technologies & protocols including: TCP/IP protocol suite, IPSEC, TLS, SSL, client and site-to-site VPNs, RADIUS, TACACS+ and X509 Certificate authentication.

Working knowledge of LAN/MAN/WAN topologies & platforms, routing protocols, current data center architectures, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, multicast, VRF, QoS, etc.

Basic programming skills in Python or other contemporary toolset/language.


Architecting world-class, large-scale data networks for global enterprises that maximize security, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with business units to rapidly develop and implement solutions.

Directly or indirectly leading teams of engineers in the implementation of complex technology.

Building and supporting enterprise LANs, MANs, WANs, VPNs, and remote access solutions in a variety of topologies.

Developing and communicating large-scale standards, procedures, and other reference documentation to guide technical teams throughout an enterprise.

Experience with multiple vendor switching, routing, and security products (i.e. not just Cisco

Programming experience to simplify, automate, or orchestrate any network tasks.

9+ years’ progressive experience in an enterprise environment that operates 7x24 services to a multitude of customers and business units.

Media and ISP industry experience is beneficial.

An advanced candidate has served as the lead architect / technical leader for the enterprise, leading other teams of network and/or security engineers/architects either directly or indirectly.

Required or Highly Preferred Certifications:

Multiple certifications such as CISSP, Cisco CCIE, CSSLP, or equivalent networking certifications or education.


Skills & Experience:

An advanced candidate may have experience in any or all of the following:

Expert level programming in Python or other language that helps to simplify, automate, and/or orchestrate network functions.

Experience testing or deploying software-defined networks.

Designing other areas of IT infrastructure (i.e. server, storage, database, datacenter design, etc.

Designing and deploying solution


BA/BS Math, Decision Systems, CS, or Business


Masters in Math, Decision Systems, CS or Bus Tech


Duration: 6 Months possible extension. could turn into long term

Project- On going life-cycle management- hardware and software planning and testing.
