Position Senior Systems Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary:
The individual in this position will act as a technical interface to GM to assist them in developing, integrating and troubleshooting their SDARS application software and hardware. This person will provide guidance on architecture development, software design, testing and troubleshooting. This person will advise developers on the use of SXM protocols, specifications, tools, and software offerings. This person will interface with the technical experts within SXM as needed for assistance or to report issues found. Responsible for the overall requirements, integration, test, and problem resolution of SXM audio and data services for GM automotive OEM programs. Work with GM lead engineer to develop GM specifications which reflect SXM requirements. Support ongoing GM SDARs production issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop architecture proposals to support Sirius XM (SXM) Satellite Module audio and data services within the OEM architecture framework.
Deploy architecture requirements to HMI and Tuner Suppliers. Ensure these requirements are balanced within the overall OEM architectural framework.
Resolve overall SXM system issues as they relate to feature execution. This includes interaction with other SXM subject matter experts where appropriate to quickly resolve issues.

Integrate overall SXM requirements into an OEM specification to support overall feature execution. This includes requirements written by the SXM Services Systems/Software Engineer.
Provide single point contact between OEM Tier 1 suppliers and OEM Lead Engineer to ensure program requirements are being met.
Support trade-off studies to optimize integration of SXM feature set.
Conduct Design Reviews as required for architecture, requirements and implementation.
Lead systems level Product Development Team with OEM, Suppliers, and required SXM personnel with the goal to resolve all program issues.
Meet regularly with the SXM Audio, SXM17 and Data Services engineers to ensure overall program requirements are being met.
Support bench and vehicle builds to ensure SXM performance is meeting specification. Resolve issues as appropriate.
Support vehicle ride activities as necessary.
Travel as necessary to support OEM engineering locations as well as the OEM supply base.
Depending on the need will travel to GM Vehicle Engineering Center 50 - 100% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent
Experience in Android or Linux OS preferred.
Knowledgeable in system level engineering concepts (architecture, flow down of requirements and interfaces
Familiar with current generation SXM deployment as a background skill set.
Minimum 7 years of experience in infotainment systems. MOST experience is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of experience with current generation SXM services.

Technical Skills:
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Knowledge of GM information and communication systems, as well as GM release process.
