Aerospace Research Engineer

Location: Woburn, MA.

Duration: 6+ Months or full time

Client is looking to fill an Aerospace ResearchEngineerposition in the Intelligent Control Systems group for R&D projects in the areas of advanced autonomous GNC system design for single and multiple collaborating UAVs; UAV swarm control; design and analysis of Sense and Avoid systems for unmanned vehicles, and verification and validation of complex autonomous control systems.

Job Title Senior Aerospace Research Engineer
Level MSc with 6+years or PhD with 3+years industry experience
Location Woburn, MA.
Duties • Develop, implement and test advanced autonomous GNC and optimization algorithms for multiple collaborating UAVs and UAV swarms, and support their hardware-in-the-loop and experimental testing.
Implement innovative Verification and Validation (V&V) techniques leading to fight certification of advanced autonomous GNC algorithms.
Work in a team or as a task lead to execute technical deliverables.
Contribute technical materials for proposals, white papers and/or publications.
Present technical results to internal and external customers.
Participate in technical discussion regarding new R&D ideas and directions.
Required Skills/Experience • MS or PhD and strong background in advanced GNC for aerospace vehicles.
Strong background in swarm control and V&V of autonomous GNC systems.
Effective proposal writing skills or willingness to learn.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of embedded control systems and related hardware.
Background in aero-servo-elastic modeling and control is desired.
